Resolutions are difficult to keep and are almost always broken. I think instead of resolutions, there should be sayings to live by. Keep them close to your heart and utter them (almost in meditation) every day and you will find fulfillment in the new year!
Here are mine:
First one: Follow your bliss
Probably the most important one. Life is too short, and I'm definitely feeling that as time goes by way too fast! And I'm not going to compromise a moment of it by doing something I do not want to do. Now that's different from doing something always fun. There will definitely be moments where I must do unpleasant things (like chores, studying for midterms/finals, etc.) but it will always be so in the right direction. My life's compass must always point to Bliss! (From the world's greatest mentor!)
Second: Eat to live not live to eat
To recognize perhaps the importance of food as sustenance and not as an emotional crutch. This one is pretty self-explanatory.
Third: It's the fear of what comes after the doing that makes the doing so hard to do... But you can always live with the consequences
Quote from Kushner's Angels in America. Live life without fear because you will never ever die from making the decisions you make. And if you do, life is bound to end anyways.
